Answers from Dr. Kaiser

Question:

What are your thoughts on Coenzyme Q-10? Why is it no longer in your formula?

Dr. Kaiser replies:

After ten years of experience prescribing Coenzyme Q-10 to patients
with immune deficiencies, I became skeptical of its ability to produce
clearly observable clinical benefits. In fact, the only current indication
for Co-Q10 supported by well-performed research studies is its use as a
complementary therapy in the treatment of congestive heart failure. No
studies have ever shown a clear benefit in patients with HIV/AIDS, CFIDS, or other immune problems.

Therefore, I decided to drop Co-Q10 from my Immune Support Program while at the same time adding substantial dosages of two additional antioxidants: acetyl L-carnitine and alpha lipoic acid which are better supported by clinical research.

This new combination of nutrients has worked spectacularly well in my
clinical practice and is now being studied in a formal placebo controlled,
research trial. The bottom line isŠ the presence of Coenzyme Q-10 has not been missed and I can no longer justify adding its substantial cost to the overall formula. Thanks for your question.
