The medications that you are currently taking do not have high cholesterol and peripheral neuropathy as common side effects.  That means that your high cholesterol should respond well to a program of a low-carb/low-fat diet and a regular exercise program.  It is also possible that, when you get your CD4 count above 500 cells for at least one year, you may be able to go on a treatment interruption and take a break from the drugs for a while.

Treatment interruptions are being intensively studied at this time to help give patients breaks from the medications on a regular basis.  I will be writing a lot more about this topic in my E-Newsletter over the coming months.  You can sign up on my website.

As for the numbness and tingling in your feet, it is most likely caused by the HIV infection itself.  K-PAX vitamins have been specifically designed to help improve this symptom of HIV disease although they may take a few months to work.  Make sure that you are taking the appropriate dosage for your weight and that you take two packets per day to give them the best chance of working.  Good luck!
