1. Upcoming Lectures

New York City
Monday evening, May 18th, 2009 – 6PM
at GMHC located at 119 W. 24th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues) in NYC.

Topic: The Coming Epidemic: HIV & Cardiovascular Disease
Many individuals living with HIV/AIDS have now made it into their sixties and seventies (halleluyah!).  This situation presents a significant challenge since both HIV infection, and the medications used to treat it, increase one’s risk for premature heart disease. This lecture will provide those attending valuable information on intelligent treatment strategies to help your cardiovascular system stay healthy.

This lecture topic will be presented by Dr. Kaiser at the GMHC in Manhattan.  GMHC is one of the premiere AIDS Service Organizations in New York City. It is located at 119 W. 24th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues).  The lecture will begin at 6:00pm and a FREE buffet dinner will be served.  There is limited space so please come early. (Flyer

San Francisco

at the LGBT Community Center, Ceremonial Room, 1800 Market Street in San Francisco. A free buffet dinner will be served. (Flyer)

Topic: 7 Steps to a Stronger Immune System

Covered topics will include:

-> Diet & Nutrition
-> Intestinal Health
-> Spiritual Healing Techniques
-> Standard Medical Therapies
-> How to Put All the Pieces Together!

This lecture will provide valuable information to help individuals with HIV/AIDS, Cancer, Autoimmune Conditions, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome improve their health.  It will include the latest information for strengthening the immune system and improving your energy level.

2. Swine Flu Update

The swine flu virus has infected almost 3000 people in the Untied States.  While originally thought to be highly lethal, the number of deaths attributed to it in the United States has been very low.  This virus originated in pigs, mixed with bird and human flu viral genes, and has now spread from Mexico City to the United States and abroad.

This is the information you need to know. Swine flu
viral symptoms are very similar to common seasonal flu symptoms and include runny nose, sneezing, coughing, fever, body aches, and occasionally abdominal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  Instead of being solely passed from pigs to their caregivers, this virus can spread amongst human beings.

Key Tips to Staying Healthy:

  1. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.

  2. Try to avoid close contact with people who are obviously ill.

  3. Use a respiratory mask if you are symptomatic to prevent spreading germs to others.

  4. See your doctor immediately if you begin to develop flu-like symptoms, especially if you develop a fever greater than 100 degrees (F).  One reason this is important is that swine flu virus may be susceptible to drugs like oseltamivir (Tamiflu®).  Only your doctor can properly assess this and prescribe appropriate medication if necessary.

  5. Eat healthfully, get plenty of rest, and avoid activities that stress your immune system such as excessive alcohol, cigarette smoking, or other drug use.

  6. Take an immune-boosting supplement that includes significant dosages of vitamin C, alpha lipoic acid, n-acetyl-cyteine, zinc, and selenium.    K-PAX Immune Support Formula (8 capsules 1-2X/day) contains all of the above in a single product and has been shown in a published clinical trial to significantly improve key immune system markers in people with a severe immune deficiency condition.

3. When to Start Antiviral Medications – Part One

Recent studies have produced data suggesting that beginning to take antiviral drugs (HAART) earlier than the current government guidelines recommend (currently at a CD4 count  below 350 cells/mm3) may result in better outcomes such as fewer infections and deaths. These results are still preliminary but may soon result in a change in the government¹s guidelines to start HAART if your CD4 count drops below 500 cells/mm3.

It is important to know that there are two groups firmly behind the adoption of these early treatment guidelines.  The first is the pharmaceutical industry.  If antiviral medication is begun just 1-2 years earlier than current guidelines suggest, the pharmaceutical industry will reap billions of dollars in additional profit.

The second group consists of standard physicians who believe that the ONLY way to treat HIV infection is with the use of antiviral drugs.  One can repeatedly read comments by standard HIV physicians discounting and disbelieving the possibility that any intervention, other than drugs, can have a meaningful effect on supporting immune function and keeping people with HIV healthy and stable.  Because of this mistaken belief, if the only effective intervention to support the health of HIV(+) individuals is drugs, then using them sooner makes a lot of sense.  The problem with this belief is that it is simply not true!

I continue to observe exceptionally good health and complete freedom from illness or death in the patients who follow my aggressive natural treatment guidelines.  When these guidelines are followed, in my opinion, antiviral therapy can be safely deferred until the CD4 count falls below 350 cells/mm3.

In the patients I care for who follow these treatment recommendations, there have been no HIV-related deaths during the past fifteen years.

(The only HIV-related deaths in my practice during the past fifteen years have been in patients who have come to see me with severely depleted immune systems (CD4 count less than 50 cells) and resistance to all available medications.)

In brief, the natural therapy guidelines I recommend include a healthy diet, taking K-PAX Immune Support Formula or a similar high potency supplement program, getting regular exercise, keeping your stress well-managed, and avoiding tobacco, alcohol, and other substance abuse behaviors.

In people who do not follow these natural therapy guidelines, I recommend that you follow the standard treatment guidelines since I do not have confidence that your immune system is well supported enough to diverge from what the conventional guidelines recommend.

However, if you want to avoid starting antiviral medication until it truly becomes necessary, I strongly recommend that you follow my natural therapies guidelines as part of your health maintenance program.

The purpose of this update is to let those of you who have been following my treatment recommendations for many years know that I continue to see exceptionally good health and well-being occur when my program is followed by anyone not taking antiviral medications with greater than 350 CD4 cells.

In future E-Newsletters I will go into greater detail on this topic.

4. Conclusion

I continue to see strong evidence that suggests my HIV(+) patients will live normal and healthy lifespans.  This result would not be possible unless a strong effort is being made to follow an aggressive healing program that supports and respects your body, mind, and spirit.

I will be announcing additional lecture dates soon.  I also plan to post videos on selected topics on YouTube as soon as time allows.  I will keep you informed on these events with my next E-Newsletter.  Until then, be well and…

Keep Hope Alive!
